Description
A powerful and vibrant work within abstract expressionism that sparkles with energy and fantastic depth. The idea behind the piece has been to capture a moment of pure, unfiltered emotional power. Through spontaneous and wild movements, the energy has taken on a tangible, physical form on the canvas. The painting is built from the ground up with a structure-giving layer of filler at the base, which provides a unique, three-dimensional relief character where the raw substrate meets the movement of colors. On top of this, the paint has been worked in layer upon layer with a palette knife. The color palette is dominated by intense shades of shocking pink, purple, and yellow, beautifully contrasted by organic areas in emerald green. The painting has painted edges in a soft purple hue, allowing it to be hung just as it is without a frame.
